THE intermediate level

    For dogs and handlers that have completed and mastered beginner level

The dogs will learn more advanced Heelwork incorporating right turns, about turns at normal pace and more emphasis will be put on getting the dog to do this of it's own free will .

The Stays ( Sit and Down ) will become longer in duration with the introduction of distractions.

The dog will learn an 'A' Recall where the dog waits until called to join the handler at heel and continues at heel.

The dog will learn to 'Finish' (i.e. from the present position to heel) both the English way to the right and the German way to the left.

The dog will be taught the beginnings of the Retrieve.

Distance Control will be introduced incorporating sit/down position changes.

The dog will be encouraged to work for toys rather than food and also be taught to maintain eye contact with the handler.
