The advanced level

                            for dogs that have mastered intermediate  

      In this class the dogs will be taught more advanced Heelwork with the introduction of left turns, left about turns and both fast and slow paces. The emphasis will be on getting the dog to do this on a loose lead with a minimum of input from the handler.

The Stays will become increasingly more difficult, both in duration and with more distractions and the handlers will start to go out of sight. The Stand Stay will be introduced too.

The 'A' Recalls will now be executed off lead and at both the slow and fast paces incorporating more turns and complexity. They will also be executed with the handler at halt.

Distance Control will become more difficult as the Stand is included and the distance between dog and handler is extended.

The Recall will now be extended and staggered presents be included. Sometimes the dog will be expected to Finish directly without.

Retrieve with all variations will be taught.

Novice Recalls with a stop in all 3 positions will be introduced.

Halting at Heel  in each of the 3 positions will be introduced.

The Sendaway and Redirect will be introduced.

The Inter-Class Trials will be used both as a monitor of progress and to encourage/stimulate greater efforts through competition.
